United States Gymnastics | Gluckstein wins silver in men’s trampoline at 2021 Senior Pan American Championships, Padilla leads men’s 17-21 field

RIO DE JANEIRO, Brazil, June 13, 2021 – Jeffrey Gluckstein of Atlantic Heights, NJ / Elite Trampoline Academy led all American athletes in the senior men’s trampoline competition at this weekend’s Senior Pan American Championships. The world team silver medalist finished second on Saturday at Parque OlÃmpico – Arena Carioca after qualifying first on Friday. Gluckstein (56.610) was edged by Colombian Angel Hernandez Recalde (57.220) in the event final. His US teammate Cody Gesuelli of Huntsville, Ala./Merino Trampoline Gymnastics Academy finished third with a 56.095. Ruben Padilla of Bluffdale, Utah / Wasatch Trampoline & Tumbling qualified fifth, but did not advance to the final due to the limit of two athletes per country.
Despite this, Padilla finished the weekend with three golds to add to her collection. The team of Gesuelli, Gluckstein and Padilla won the senior men’s team title, posting a total of 316,275. Argentina finished second with a 300.610 and Colombia third with a 298.815.
Padilla and Gesuelli also took first place in the men’s synchronized trampoline with a 50.415. Argentines Bernardo Aquino and Santiago Ferrari (45.540) and Colombians Diego Giraldo Garzon and Julian Alvis Diaz (43.400) placed second and third.
In the men’s 17-21 age group, Padilla won gold at 55.695, while Zachary Ramacci of St. John, Ind./TwistStars Tumbling and Trampoline was second at 54.050. The Mexican Adrian Martinez Larralde (53.960) completes the top three. Changa Anderson of Washington, DC / Silver Stars Gymnastics qualified fourth, finishing within a tenth of a point behind Ramacci who clinched second and final place in the United States in the final of the event. Sunday. Based on this exceptional performance, the United States secured two quota places for the 2021 Pan American Junior Games, which will take place in Cali, Colombia, later this year.
