Union Hajj Minister discusses Hajj issues
New Delhi, April 9: Union Minister for Hajj Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi chaired a meeting in New Delhi on Saturday and met with the newly appointed members of India’s Hajj Committee in addition to discussing a way forward to improve facilities at the Hajj across the country.
An official with knowledge of the meeting said Naqvi chaired a meeting in Delhi where he met the newly appointed members of India’s Hajj Committee, including a new member of J&K Er Aijaz Hussain.
“The meeting discussed various issues related to Hajj-2022. Members also discussed the way forward to improve Hajj facilities across the country and guided all members to work for the welfare of Muslims at across the country,” the official said.
Er Aijaz Hussain said a meeting was held to discuss ways and means to ease Hajj facilities across Kashmir. Hussain, who was present at the meeting, said Saudi Arabia’s Hajj Ministry had announced that 10 million pilgrims would perform Hajj this year, but so far no final quota has been announced for India. . “As the Saudi government announces a quota for India, we will learn the Hajj quota from J&K accordingly. It may take a few more days,” he said.
