The Fantastic Value of Kyrie Irving, A Look At Eric Wong’s High Stake Auction Project And His Bold Predictions For 2021-2022 – The Athletic

This is my last column of the preseason, so I’ll start off by giving you an overview of the draft I entered on Friday night, where I spent more money than ever before on my top two players. Then I’ll give you a variety of predictions for the coming season.
We’re only days away from opening night, so let’s go!
What to do about Kyrie Irving, Zion Williamson and Ben Simmons?
It’s pretty silly to ask, or try to set, specific rankings for these three guys, because it depends on how much risk you’re willing to take. If you don’t want any of your roster points eaten for a month to start the season – or potentially much, much longer – then you should just avoid them.
What I can tell you is how things went for each guy in my ultra-competitive auction draft which took place on Friday night. Zion and Simmons were among the top eight nominated players, and they took home $ 15 and $ 14 respectively. Irving was the 45th player nominated, and went for a paltry four dollars. It could end up being the draft steal if Irving is traded or decides to make a 180, but only time will tell which of those picks represents the best value.
And how does Irving’s situation impact James Harden, Kevin Durant and the others
