NYCFC signs Brazilian international Talles Magno from Vasco da Gama
Magno can play anywhere on the front line and is the latest young Brazilian striker to sign for NYCFC this window, after winger Thiago Andrade.
“We are really excited to sign Talles and we are ready to welcome him to our dressing room,” said head coach Ronny Deila. great addition to our group of strikers. He has a lot of potential and we are ready to help him further grow as a footballer, but he is still only 18 years old. We don’t want to put too much pressure on his shoulders right away. There is a great group of players and employees here at NYCFC who will allow him to settle into New York life and we know he is a player who can come and help us win football games.
The forward offers Deila another talented option in attack, alongside Taty Castellanos, Jesus Medina, Ismael Tajouri-Shradi and, upon his return from injury, Heber. NYCFC have had a strong start to 2021, scoring eight points in their first five games despite seeming a bit weak attacking depth with Heber out and the club awaiting Andrade’s arrival.
NYCFC takes on defending MLS Cup champions Columbus Crew on Saturday (7:30 p.m. ET | MLS Live on ESPN +).
