Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has declared All Progressives National Leader Bola Tinubu the most qualified Nigerian to be President in 2023.

The governor said Mr Tinubu’s qualification rested on his demonstrated ability to deploy a blend of genius and statecraft to feed a city on the brink of a thriving economy.

“Tinubu’s hands-on governance ideas make him the most qualified successor and salable choice for the job. Our country is the most populous black nation in the world and the responsibility that comes with that is enormous. There is no doubt that the fate of the entire black race is bound up with the greatness of Nigeria,” Mr. Sanwo-Olu said at the official inauguration of the Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu (ABAT) Movement Working Committee in Ikeja. .

“If our country is to be great, we have a responsibility to choose the leadership that will bring about real transformation in all facets of our national life,” the Governor of Lagos added. “Who is this rallying figure that should lead us on this journey? The answer is deeply tied to our mission and purpose here today. This person must be a detribalized Nigerian and a bridge builder, who has been tested and trusted.

He further emphasized that the person must be a thinker, who must uphold the legacy “that our current president leaves behind.”

“This person is the reason why we are inaugurating this movement for the actualization of his presidential ambition”, explained Mr. Sanwo-Olu. “That person is our great leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.”

The ABAT movement was conceived and set up by members of the Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC) in Lagos to realize Mr. Tinubu’s presidential ambition.

The Governor of Lagos said Tinubu’s undoubted ability to effectively manage human and material resources for visible progress distinguished him as the most qualified Nigerian to be President in 2023.

He added that the progress in Lagos remained a visible experiment initiated by the leader of the APC. Mr Sanwo-Olu said Nigeria had continued to shoulder the burden of the black race and the transformation of the country into a stable economy would be a source of pride for the black man.

According to Sanwo-Olu, in 2023 the country needs a capable leader with progressive ideas to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari and build on the progress made by the current administration.

Mr. Sanwo-Olu also noted that Mr. Tinubu’s name is synonymous with growth and development and has a Midas touch to positively transform the country’s resources for the general good.

He said the event aims to elevate foot soldiers, squad leaders and cheerleaders, who will pursue the movement’s goals and deliver its messages to every constituent at the neighborhood level with commitment and passion.

The Governor has instructed all those selected for leadership roles in the movement to reflect Tinubu’s political ideals of openness and tolerance in their engagement and mobilization.

APC stalwart James Odumbaku said the upcoming general elections presented a new opportunity for Nigerians to make the right choice, to keep the country on the path of development.

GAC leader Tajudeen Olusi described Mr Tinubu as “a genius” in the art of governance, adding that the APC leader was a salable item in the political market.

“We have to be prepared and determined because the contest would be a battle of power and strength,” Mr Olusi said.
