CM attacks opposition’s ‘anti-state agenda’, ‘political pointing’ – Latest News – The Nation
LAHORE – More than 30 MPAs on Saturday called Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar to the CM office separately and expressed their full confidence in his leadership. The lawmakers assured the CM that they stood by him and promised to continue supporting him in the future as well. They also recognized his interest in solving the problems of their respective constituencies. Issues relating to the overall political situation, ongoing development projects in South Punjab and other cities in the province were discussed at the meeting. The CM said the nation would never forgive those who tried to create political instability in the country. “The opposition is trying to create anarchy just to stop the process of progress and development,” he lamented and said the opposition’s politics revolved around their vested interests. Usman Buzdar said they were united under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan and would deal with the political gimmicks of the opposition.
“The writing is on the wall for the motion of no confidence, and Prime Minister Imran Khan will emerge victorious against the opposition,” he said and added that the 35% allocation of development funds for the south of Punjab was the hallmark of the PTI. government.
He also called the allocation of 32% quota in jobs for South Punjab another historic step of the PTI government. He said financial and administrative autonomy had been granted to the South Punjab secretariat. “These are the huge steps taken for the first time in 70 years by the PTI government to give rights to the people of South Punjab,” he said.
“The disappointment can be seen clearly on the faces of the opposition leaders,” he said and added that the opposition’s policies were not based on any principle or ideology, and that they did not care people’s problems.
“The public is fully aware that it is the same parties that have ruined the national economy. The rejected elements are confused seeing the country moving in the right direction,” he said.
“The opposition is busy scoring political points. They should come to their senses instead of engaging in the politics of chaos,” he added.
He also accused the opposition of trying to obstruct the path of progress and development at every critical opportunity.
“The government has a clear majority in the numbers game. Even if all the opposition unites, the motion of censure will not succeed. The government is fully aware of the people’s problems and all administrative measures are being taken to deal with the rising prices,” he said.
He said commodity prices have been stabilized thanks to the effective initiatives of the PTI government.
